Sustainability - 2026
Quality
that lasts
Sustainability is an integral part of our business every day. It’s in our mission; It’s part of every choice we make. From the products we make to the office we run on solar and the bee hives we accommodate to the communities we’re proud to support, we’re taking action where it counts and showing the numbers to back them up.

The Choices We Make
In our product design, we look closely to nature’s elements.
With that focus, we also look closely to the environment those element come from and the natural resources we all depend on. It’s our responsibility to make sustainable choices.

We're not where we want to be yet and we won't pretend otherwise. But here's where we stand today:

Where we stand
Sustainability, in numbers.
Real figures, not rounded-up promises — updated as they change.
MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Within our product range
From the materials we choose to the way our products perform, we’re trying to reduce our ecological impact. Discover the ideas behind our product choices, from bio-based frames to recycled materials and a cleaner production process.
Nowadays our sunglasses frames are made for 45% from the renewable raw material castor oil, G850, making it a sustainable choice with a low ecological footprint. The frames remain lightweight and of consistent quality.
Our complete knitwear collection, beanies, headbands and scarves, are made from 98–100% recycled polyester and acrylic. A sustainable choice due to its lower environmental impact as recycled materials help reduce the use of raw materials and promote a more circular approach to production.
Our full footwear collection is made with 30% recycled sole material. The use of recycled materials helps reduce the demand for new raw materials and contributes to a more efficient use of existing materials.
Wherever possible, we make our production processes more sustainable. From using organic cotton for our t-shirts and hoodies to the use of eco-friendly dyes and to eliminating the harmful chemical BPA in our fabrics.

No bees, no beeing
There are several hives of 20,000 bees at our Amsterdam headquarters and you can watch them work 24/7 via our livestream. A small colony with a big job: bees help pollinate around 75% of the world’s food crops. With our hives we hope to make a positive contribution to the environment and support biodiversity.

A solar-powered HQ
250 solar panels on our Amsterdam HQ generate more clean energy than the building uses, enough to also charge our fully electric fleet. With an annual output of 75,000 kWh compared to an annual consumption of 50,000 kWh, we’re reducing our carbon footprint and taking another step towards a more sustainable future.

Driving on clean energy
Almost all company vehicles are fully electric and charged in part with clean energy generated by the solar panels on our HQ.

Eyewear at altitude
Up in the Himalaya and Andes, at an altitude of 2,500 to 5,000 meters, people are exposed to intense sunlight. About 80% of the population suffers from eye damage and serious eye diseases. SINNER & Shades Of Love collect sunglasses and distribute them directly among the world’s highest summits and villages. We have transported more than 6,000 sunglasses so far.

Throughout our product range
Our bio-based G850 frames are made from the renewable raw material castor oil, making it a sustainable choice with a low ecological footprint and consistent quality. Incorporated throughout our entire sunglasses and sports sunglasses collection.
We’re using recycled EVA as key material for our flip-flops and natural merino wool for our socks.
T-shirts and hoodies made of Organic cotton that has grown in an environmentally friendly and ethical method, without harmful chemicals and while preserving soil quality. The finished products are all dyed in eco-friendly processes.
Our full knitwear collection is made from 98% recycled polyester, mainly made from used PET bottles.

Fairly traded coffee
Our partnership with Gosling Coffee goes beyond enjoying coffee; it includes sustainable agriculture and fair trade. We share their mission to create a positive impact, and together we strive for a better future. At SINNER, we appreciate not only the rich taste of their coffee, but also their mission to make a positive impact.
