1996 · How we started
Started as sports sunglasses brand in The Netherlands. Expanded to a global eyewear & outdoor lifestyle brand.
For thirty years we've made the same bet - design with athletes, build for daylight as much as for low-light, never compromise on optics and fairly priced. The categories grew (helmets, prescription, protection gear) but the rule didn't.

We embrace technology—in optics, materials, and fit. Every day, we explore which technologies we can use to improve our products. Here’s a look at our product innovations:
SINTEC® lenses eliminate annoying glare from the sun, water, and reflections off surfaces, providing improved depth perception in various weather and lighting conditions. This offers greater visual comfort and clarity, reducing eye fatigue.
Our SINTRAST® lens is specially designed for landscapes. SINTRAST® lenses break down white light into different colors, enhance the key colors, and filter out the rest, giving you a detailed, high-contrast image.
The photochromic TRANS+® lens adjusts its tint in response to changing light intensity. This high-quality lens is manufactured using the most advanced photochromic technology and the best, highly impact-resistant polycarbonate available. The lens changes from CAT 1 (clear vision) to CAT 3 (dark vision) and back again within seconds. This ensures your eyes receive the best protection in all weather conditions.
Our lightweight and impact-resistant Hydrophobic lenses ensure that water (possibly mixed with dirt) rolls off the lens, so you maintain clear vision in various weather conditions.
Our TR90 frames feature a thermoplastic frame with a memory effect, hand-finished hinges, and hydrophilic nose pads. Lightweight yet super strong.
Our bio-based G850 frames are made from the renewable raw material castor oil, making them a sustainable choice with a low environmental footprint and consistent quality. Featured in our entire collection of sunglasses and sports sunglasses.
DRY-S® technology offers 10,000 mm water resistance and 6,000 g/m² breathability, keeping your hands warm and dry and ensuring a comfortable fit.
Sustainable Technology · Biobased Materials
We’re doing more and more to reduce our environmental footprint. For example, we use recycled EVA as a key material for our flip-flops and natural merino wool for our socks.
T-shirts and hoodies are made from organic cotton that’s grown in an environmentally friendly and ethical manner, without harmful chemicals and while preserving soil quality.
The finished products are all dyed using environmentally friendly processes.

In the SINNER collection you will find everything you need to protect yourself from the elements. Warmth or cold, sun or snow, water sports or winter sports: whatever the circumstances are, with the complete collection of SINNER you will be optimal protected. Our range for the summer includes: sunglasses, sports glasses, slippers, bags, backpacks and various summer accessories. We also develop high-tech products for winter sports, such as ski / snowboard goggles, sunglasses, helmets, backpacks, hats, gloves and many accessories.
Innovation, Quality, Performance and Style
SINNER can be found in more than 3,000 stores around the world, including some of the best international department stores, independent shops and online stores. SINNER stands for innovation, quality, performance and style. From Amsterdam, where in the first years we were mainly active as a specialist in sports sunglasses, over the years we have grown into an international sports and lifestyle brand. And we are still growing: nowadays SINNER products are sold in more than 24 countries worldwide.
2000 · Going global
International expansion
SINNER ships to retailers across Europe, North America, and Asia. Athletes and artists join product development as paid collaborators, not just ambassadors.
2006 · SINNER opens first brand store in Amsterdam
First flagship store
Located in the city centre of Amsterdam, instantly famous for the sunglasses display that allowed you to buy your SINNER sunglasses even outside of business hours.
2010 · Nicolien Sauerbreij wins Olympic gold with SINNER gear.
Olympic gold
Nicolien Sauerbreij becomes Olympic Champion in the parallel giant slalom at Vancouver 2010.

2015 · Shades of Love
UV protection where it's needed
Free SINNER eyewear distributed to high-altitude communities in the Himalayas and Andes - where UV protection is most critical and least available.
2020 · The roof goes solar
250 panels — 75,000 kWh a year
Our Amsterdam HQ generates more than it uses. Surplus goes back to the grid. Bee colonies move onto our roof and the roofs of various of our retailpartners a season later.
2021 · WINTER OPENING SÖLDEN
Ski season opening & closing
For years, we’ve been kicking off every winter season in Sölden with the wintersport test days at the beginning of November. And we close every winter season in Val Thorens end of April.
