To prevent head injuries, a good ski helmet is obviously an important part of your winter sports equipment. A good ski helmet provides head support, maximum protection and ultimate comfort. For this reason, it is very important that you choose the right size ski helmet. We have listed the most important features and characteristics for you.

Ski helmet technology has continued to develop in recent years, and broadly speaking, there are currently three main types of ski helmet construction: In-Mold, Hard Shell and Hybrid. Each construction offers its own balance of protection, weight, durability and comfort. Below, we explain the differences between these helmet types and help you determine which construction best suits your needs on the slopes.

In In-Mold ski helmets, the inner layer of EPS foam (expanded polystyrene) is bonded directly to the hard polycarbonate outer shell during production. This results in a lighter helmet that absorbs impacts effectively and offers greater comfort thanks to improved weight distribution.
Softshell ski helmets, which often feature a flexible and softer outer shell, are particularly popular among recreational skiers because they offer a good balance of comfort, ventilation and protection against minor impacts.

Hybrid ski helmets combine the best features of In-Mold ski helmets and ABS Hard Shell helmets. They usually feature a lightweight In-Mold construction on the upper part of the helmet for a comfortable, low-weight feel, while the sides and back are reinforced with a strong ABS hard shell for improved protection against harder impacts.
These helmets are suitable for both recreational skiers and off-piste skiers, as they offer a good balance of comfort, ventilation and protection in a wide range of skiing conditions.

In Hard Shell (ABS) ski helmets, the inner foam layer is not directly bonded to the hard outer shell, unlike in In-Mold helmets. The outer shell is made from thick, impact-resistant ABS material, providing extra protection against harder impacts. This separation between the inner and outer shell makes the helmet heavier, but also more durable and more resistant to sharp objects and severe impacts.
Hard Shell ski helmets are often chosen by off-piste skiers and snowboarders who need a high level of protection in challenging conditions.

Active helmet ventilation is an adjustable ventilation system that you can open or close to regulate heat.
The ABS (hardshell) outer shell is designed to provide improved impact resistance, offering an extra level of protection.
In-Mold technology helps keep the helmet lightweight, providing optimal comfort during wear.
The breathable and lightweight lining helps absorb impacts, providing extra protection and comfort.
The goggle holder keeps the ski goggles securely in place and attached to the helmet.
The earpads feature a soft, warm and breathable lining.
Our helmets are equipped with a Quick Release system, featuring an easy-to-use buckle under the chin.
Door het draaiwiel aan de achterzijde van de helm te verstellen, kan de pasvorm naar eigen wens worden geoptimaliseerd.
Sizing
You can determine your helmet size by measuring the circumference of your head with a measuring tape. Place the tape approximately 2 cm above your eyebrows. The measurement you get corresponds to your head circumference.
The table provides an indication of the relationship between head circumference and helmet size. To provide effective protection, the helmet must fit your head properly and stay securely in place. If it is too large, it may not provide adequate protection. If it is too tight, it may become uncomfortable while skiing or snowboarding.
Use the table and video below to easily find the right helmet size.

Care & storage
Keep your SINNER ski helmet in top condition with proper maintenance, so you can enjoy it for years to come.
All SINNER ski and snowboard helmets are tested to Class B requirements and carry the CE mark. A number of SINNER ski and snowboard helmets are also tested to the American ASTM F2040 standard.
The SINNER Arrowhead helmet is tested to Class A requirements, ASTM F2040 and FIS standards, and is therefore approved for official professional competitions.
SINNER recommends replacing a ski or snowboard helmet after 3 to 5 years of average use to ensure continued optimal protection. If the helmet has been involved in a significant impact or fall, it should be replaced immediately, even if no visible damage is present.
SINNER recommends storing your helmet in the supplied protective cover in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and at a temperature between -5°C and +25°C (23°F to 77°F).
SINNER helmets with a photochromic TRANS+® visor should also be stored in a dark place.
Avoid contact with hard or rough surfaces. This can damage the helmet and reduce its protective properties.
Clean the helmet using tap water and a clean, dry, dust-free cloth. Do not use cleaning agents, detergents or wet wipes, as these may contain chemicals that can damage the helmet materials.
Do not apply stickers to the helmet other than those already fitted during production, as adhesives may also affect the materials.
Take extra care when applying sunscreen while wearing a SINNER helmet, as sunscreen may contain ingredients that can affect the helmet materials.
