UV protection sunglasses

What are UV-blocking sunglasses?

Just like with sun creams, not all sunglasses offer the same protection. To indicate the level of UV protection, sunglasses are divided into categories 0 to 4. Category 0 sunglasses offer the least protection; they let through 80% to 100% of UV radiation and are therefore really only suitable for wearing on cloudy days. Category 4 sunglasses offer the best UV protection; they let through only 3% to 8% of UV radiation. These UV-blocking sunglasses are therefore ideal for situations in which you are exposed to extreme amounts of sun. Do bear in mind that these category 4 UV-blocking sunglasses are too dark for driving, for example.
