Why do I need ski socks?

Putting on two pairs of regular socks on top of each other is neither comfortable nor a guarantee that your feet will stay warm. This is because it gives them a better feeling with their skis or snowboard and they experience a more direct transmission of their movements.

What size socks should I keep?

Many people tend to buy ski socks one size bigger, but this is not a good idea; in fact, they may start to slip and create creases in your socks that feel anything but comfortable. It is also not a good idea to put on regular socks under your ski socks, as this will cause chafing. Ski socks are made to keep your feet warm, so one pair at a time is enough! Your ski socks shouldn't be too small either, as this can cause them to pinch and impede circulation, which is bound to give you cold feet. In short: you can just keep the same size socks as always when buying ski socks.
